A possible portrait of my mother

Working with archival footage from the sixties and Super 8 home movies, this video installation playfully suggests a narrative, it pinpoints a piece of timeline of my mother’s life: an uncommitted youth, the call of a rebellious society and the transition into motherhood. The use of loop enhances the idea of an insistence on the need to approach affection. The loop is also present in sound design, since a single double note repeats throughout the work, bringing the mood of a mantra and its trance-like effect. And then the projection itself is in loop, suggesting the idea of a cycle.
