Between Marromeu in Mozambique and Barreiro and Apúlia in Portugal, Eunice Pais follows the journey of her mother, Rosa/Zita, and the landscapes shaped by migration, memory and return.
Structured as a passage through separation, transition and return, the work combines family archives, autobiography and fabulation. The personal narrative becomes a postcolonial archive shaped by inheritance, displacement and different states of suspension. The ocean appears simultaneously as distance, border and the possibility of connection.
