João Bento
João Bento is a sound and visual artist. He graduated in Plastic Arts from ESAD-Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. Since 2004 he composes sound for performances, dance, experimental films, theatre plays and live acts. His work articulates analog instruments and sound objects, used in a multidisciplinary context. Relating sound archives and processes that question memory and territory, he created in 2012 the “366 Sound Daily Project” audio installation developed for the ECOS Encontros sobre Escuta e Lugar at the Lisbon Architecture Triennale (13) and the installation “Cactus” (2016) for the event Lisboa Soa, International Meeting of Urban Art and Auditory Culture. He created the sound and visual installation “8 Linhas” (18) and “Correspondência” (18) for the cultural programming Caminhos Médio Tejo. Between 2003 and 2006 he coordinated the VS Project (International Experimental Video Platform) with the IMAGO Film Fest.
