Santiago Carlini
Santiago Carlini is a multidisciplinary filmmaker and artist who works in documentaries, video art, digital painting, sculpture, and installation. Although these different supports help him position himself as an inveterate experimenter and adventurer, all of his production has vulnerability as its conceptual root. The artist investigates, reflects and produces collectively, getting personally involved with the universe that he approaches. He focuses on the sensitivity of what is socially recognized as fragile and rescues its transformative power. Intimate, and politically charged, his works aim to show the different realities that go through his history and his daily life. Santiago’s work provides an empowering gesture of the diversity of worlds that make up the planet.
The artist has participated in the 42nd International Festival of New Latin American Cinema Havana – Collective Exhibition «Ruina Azul» Zapadores, Madrid, Bytefootage Festival, CCK, Buenos Aires – Collective exhibition «Peluscencias» MUNAR Buenos Aires – Festival PLAY, Corrientes – Miami New Media Festival – International Experimental Film Festival Cineautopsia – Bogotá – DOBRA International Experimental Film Festival, Rio de Janeiro.
He has been selected and awarded a scholarship in different production and training programs such as MasterLAV, Proyecto Imaginario PI.MOV (Latin America), ArtistasxArtistas Fundación El Mirador & MUNAR and BIM (Moving Image Biennial).
He has a degree in Audiovisual Arts from the National University of the Arts (Arg.) and Director of Photography from CFP-SICA (Arg.)
